Tonight’s keto dinner was a meat sauce and Bearnaise mix. It is not your most common combination but I like to try out some new things a little now and then. Usually when you have two good things and combine them it turns out as a good combination.
The meat sauce is made by chopping around 25g onion and 5g garlic. Then I fry these two together in some butter. When the onion starts to get some color I add in the minced beef and fry it all until the minced beef looks done. Then I add in the tomatoes and let it all boil together for around 5 minutes.
If you eat together with someone who is not on the keto diet you can serve some pasta together with this. I however skip the pasta and add on some Bearnaise sauce instead to make it a more keto friendly dish.
The whole dish of meat sauce and bearnaise takes around 25-30min to make and does not require any special skills. All you basically need is a chopping board, a knife, a pan to fry things in and then you are done. I served it with a little cucumber today to have something to help taking up the sauce with.
Total for one portion of meat sauce and bearnaise ended up in 83% fat, 13% protein and 3% carbohydrates. Total calories ended up at 960 kcal.
